Move to Seattle? Edit: TC: 205 (175 base) 8YOE (6 @ Bloomberg)
Just switch to an employer that will pay you what you’re worth
@OP - I know most banks do underpay in NYC, but I thought Bloomberg was less of an evil there ... how much are you paid in Bloomberg ?
Unless you want a house with a yard to raise a family, Seattle is a shit option. You will regret the move.
You can get all that if you move little far in New York or to to New Jersey. There's literally no reason to move unless there's an offer from a really good team based out of Seattle
You can do it in Seattle with a 15-20 minute commute to downtown. That becomes nearly impossible depending on where you work in Manhattan. Point taken though.
I’m not sure what I was expecting when I moved to Seattle, but two years in and I still get surprised by how dead it can be. If you’re in your 20s/early 30s and single, Seattle will disappoint.
Thanks for your honest opinion.
Google, Facebook, Uber, Dropbox, Lyft, LinkedIn and more are all in NYC, don't have to move for $$$
It's just cheaper it live in Seattle.
