A day after interview (for software engineering) recruiter called me and informed that the team want to extend an offer, I forgot to ask the level they offered me in the phone call. Later i sent the recruiter 2 followup emails asking for level and no response from recruiter since 4 days. Is this common with Apple recruiters? Recruiter only communicated about the willingness to offer and ghosting me since then. what should be my next steps in this case?
Forget the recruiter. Apple recruiters are the epitome of rest-and-vest employees- we have to fight to get them to work, and we aren’t always successful. Contact the HM. That’s who you want to have a conversation with. Recruiters exist only to do the clerical work (yes, looking up the expected comp from our huge database is clerical IMHO)
My Apple recruiter was the worst recruiter I’ve ever dealt with. Missed nearly every single schedule call with me. Sometimes sent me a heads up but usually a message a few hours after the scheduled time saying a meeting went long. Normally I wouldn’t put up with the BS friend had referred me. Got so consistent that I just assumed my recruiter wouldn’t ever call me at the right time. Luckily my schedule was very flexible. I feel bad for the HM because I’m sure they lost a few good candidates.
The same recruiter one day after phone interview told me they want move forward to onsite and when it came to scheduling onsite interview she ghosted me for long. I had to send her 3 emails asking her to confirm a date and she never responded and just 2 days before onsite someone else sent me a confirmation email. I feel like recruiter see my email and choose not to respond.
Apple moves fast if they want you, I got my offer in under a week. If the recruiter is unresponsive then you’re being ghosted, which unfortunately is common with Apple recruiters.
Not true, it’s entirely situation dependent. Apple can be super slow to move forward with candidates. The hiring manager was on vacation when I was interviewing, and I didn’t get an offer letter or much communication for 2 weeks before the offer. After being on the inside, I’ve seen other examples like this too.
*not always true
Not only apple, but this is common with all other companies. Wait for some time, he will get back. If your feedback is good, he would like you to join the company. Something must be going on. So wait and keep us posted. All the best
Apple closes for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year week. A lot of people go on PTO so that could be the delay. I agree, email the HM.
This recently happened with me. Though with Amazon. The recruiter said he will need few days to extend the offer letter. I am assuming they’re hiring like crazy and are very busy this time of the year. Give them a call maybe? Ask them for timeline. Maybe also let them know if you have any other offers on the table and that you need to make a decision.
Unfortunately a lot of people are OOO plus we have our holiday break so it is entirely possible the recruiter just went on vacation or something. Contact HM
Same situation here. What happened in the end? Op?
+1, op, any updates on what happened?

Worried that our top performer is an attrition risk. How do managers handle this?
