I'm going through the interview process at Google and the most recent recruiter I'm working with for scheduling takes often over a week to respond via email and takes several "nag" emails from me to coerce a response. Has anyone else experienced this? Should I read into it at all? Don't they benefit if I end up getting an offer? FWIW, I'm onto my last round.
I've usually had good experiences with Google but there was 1 Google recruiter who was stubborn and hopeless. I had a similar experience and I wish no candidate else gets that dude again. He was non responsive, would call at his own will and not willing to schedule an appropriate time, unwilling to share more information around the interview itself. He was a nightmare, the worst recruiter in my career. I had lost half of my interest with Google because of him. Enough of my side, to answer your question: - They do benefit of you get an offer. But I'm sure Google recruiters have 20 more candidates. Some might only care about getting a hit amongst the number of candidates they have, so no personal care. I'd CC a peer recruiter of his/hers and ask for an update; given that you have another contact. Or send out an email saying why you're in a rush (maybe other interviews lined up or your timeline is coming to an end) Your recruiter might seriously be busy or out of office for a while.
Google recruiters are usually the worst. I had a similar experience where it took forever for the recruiter to respond even when I had a competing offer from FB. Finally reached out to another recruiter I knew and then the original recruiter responded.
Google recruiters are beyond pathetic.
Google's known to take forever, possibly the worst recruiting experience I had.
