I’m traveling to New York City this week for work. Any favorite restaurant or local ‘must trys’? I am staying a couple extra nights so I’ll have a little bit of time. The 9/11 museum and a Yankee game are already booked.

    Get a bagel at ess-a-bagel. Go really early otherwise line gets very long. Try some street cart food, not necessarily a food truck though those are good too, chicken/lamb over rice.

    ETA: Oh and how can I forget. It’ll be hot and humid again next week so make sure to take the subway and experience the smells that come with it :)

    ETA2: After you’re done with the 9/11 museum and hopefully the one world observatory for a great view of the city, you can walk over to the waterfront at battery park for a decent view of Jersey City/Brooklyn. If you walk in the opposite direction a longer walk will take you to Chinatown.

    Walking across the Brooklyn bridge is fun and can then head over to the promenade for a great view of downtown Manhattan. There is a ferry you can take back to Manhattan. Also there are various options to take a cruise around Manhattan and some of those go right up to the Statue of Liberty and go towards the Verrazano bridge. Those tours take a few hours. Can also take the Staten Island ferry for a good view of Statue of Liberty.

  • Go to the beer garden and the skybar at the standard in Chelsea. You can walk there on the high line.

    there are a few big-name delis you could hit up: Katz's and Sarge's come to mind. eat food from a halal cart. get a slice of dollar pizza (specifically dollar pizza); it's trash and you must eat it immediately to hide that bad taste but it's peak new york. met someone from a programming discord at Ulysses in the financial district, good beer & burgers.

    dick around in times square and Broadway. don't go to the museum of modern art, go to the met instead. Lincoln center film society is another good spot.
