Let's say you've an offer from a company (C1) and you've accepted it. The joining date is more than a month far and you get an offer from company (C2) better than C1. Can you show C2's offer to C1 and ask for a new upgraded offer? I'm pretty sure salary negotiations go in India quite differently. If anyone can answer from india perspective, it'd be great #offer #tech
I as a HM will revoke offer at C1
I don't understand. You'll revoke my offer at your company C1 and ask me to join C2? Offer once finalized will never be upgraded?
I would not like to hire a person who is joining my company only for money and declines it based on new offer. He is always a flight risk and I would rather hire other folks in pipe line.
Don't be so blunt like i got this much so I'll join you only if you offer more. Just decline C1. When they ask for the reason, say something like below: "I got another offer with a significant increase in pay. I am really excited about C1, but the significant difference in pay makes it hard to justify it to myself" Be super polite, and make it as if you're quite helpless about it. They should understand that if they're in your position, they would also do the same thing. If they want you enough, they'll come back with an updated offer. Obviously, the pay difference shouldn't be too small and you've to be prepared to walk away from C1. It's unlikely but C1 might even revoke the initial offer. Going back on accepted offer is not uncommon in India. But the ideal situation is not to accept an offer at all until you're sure.
