Hello all, I was recently contacted by a recruiter for a role at Upstart for a software engineer - ml role. Does anyone have idea of what the day to day tasks would be and how different is it from software engineering role or machine learning role.

Also what would the interview process be like

  • It's basically an engineering role but serves the ML team and reports through ML. The range of work is pretty broad. There's a team that works on model training but infrastructure (setting things up with metaflow, distributing model training, etc.), a data team that focuses on providing data to ML for standard model training (they work a lot with data eng; a little unclear to me how it's different), and a catch all team that does a fairly wide variety of work that is really just normal software engineering.

    Not sure on interview process.

      Thanks that helps.

I was told there'll be a initial phone screen which would be mostly sde related (which currently hasn't been set up yet). Would having a decent Leetcode knowledge be enough ?
