Finding credible data on TC is hard. The culture here on Blind is great because TC or gtfo; however is heavily geared towards Tech. Venture Cap, Private Equity, IB, Sales, and other industries are missed. However using Blind in combination w/ Glassdoor, Wall Street Oasis, Reddit I think the highest paying jobs tend to be in Private Equity. If anyone has information on this please share, but Private Equity firms focused on SaaS are making a killing and small number of employees at firms get a % of the profit. Anyone care to agree or disagree?
Salaries at PE has huge selection bias it is like looking at how much successful startup founders make. Even folks at HBS work hard to get good PE jobs and most of them wont make partner. It is relatively easier to make L7 at google for comparision. I think tech pays better. Dont look at junior levels at PE, they mske good money but only a few last unlike tech which doesnt have the up or out culture.
This is the the response I was looking for
Also keep in mind that tech also has sky high compensation for key employees in strategic roles. For example, Levandowski has a large amount of Uber stock, on top of all the Waymo/Alphabet stock. https://techcrunch.com/2017/05/03/waymo-case-reveals-levandowski-got-250-million-in-uber-stock-for-otto/ So top paying can also apply to the tech industry if you're really one of the top individuals.
First of all, what’s your TC?
Not high enough
At NG? I’d guess < 100k if 1-3 YOE, maybe $100k-$140k for 4-6 YOE.
