Has anyone used offers from other companies to negotiate a better salary at their current company? If so, did it work?

    Trying it currently. Will let you know how it goes. But I’ve heard many people getting dive and save if you are a valuable employee

      Basically an off cycle pay increase. Typically requires VP sign off but it’s doable. I’ve done it myself and got toward upper of the band with just outside offers. If you’ve been ranked TT it’ll give you more leverage but I never am because I suck 😂

    Works for google (if you are L5+ and critical to the project/org). Amazon has “dive and save” too.

    No. Know what you're worth and go where there's the best opportunity. If it's just about money and nothing else, you're not going to be happy. If all you want is more money, then you're the drama, not your employer.

  • Going to try it in a month - though I am under no illusion it will work. Asking internally, it seems like my company is fine with letting people go.

    And yes, this isn't a ploy. If they don't match, I am gone

    I wanna do this but I’m worried that they’ll hold a grudge and expect way more now that my salary would’ve gone up. Would be hard to justify doing the same responsibilities but getting 20% more pay for ex.
