Yeah good luck paying $2mil "for the land" and then building a brand new $2mil home on it after 4 years of construction in the Bay Area and then paying property tax on your new $4million shed.

Folks complaining should compare their house worth against a house in say, western Nebraska or WY or even remote Mexico. Would you complain about your 500/600/700K house as hilarious/“tiny land”? You can get an acre (or 2) in Dakotas for the same price as your MCOL area house.
