How is it like working at bridgewater associates in tech role like quant, engineer etc Is it fulfilling or brutal? Do they fire aggressively? How is the bar? What about compensation growth? I could not find bridgewater, so I tagged other relevant companies.
Avoid it. I had interview with them few months back. The culture is very weird. Ray Dalio is not anymore with the company. They judge you pretty quickly . Also, fire very quickly irrespective of your contributions. My interview experience is negative 👎 and their expectations were different than my background. You get more points for cultural fit than technical skills. You can give a shot. They book business class for the onsite. Keep in mind, the location sucks, not much to do.
You’ll either fit in right away perfectly or be a misfit. You’ll know fairly quickly. So if it’s a good opportunity - give it a try. They’re pros at what they do - which is manage money.
I’ve heard bad things about culture, very competitive and backstabbing.
Let me add to this - wasn’t about engineering role, so that could be better or different.
What’s so creepy about them? Curious about the horror stories
I’ve heard u have to input ur mistakes w/ reasons & ways to avoid them by hand into some system and if u don’t improve by the next occurrence u’re thrown out.
I’d take citadel any day over bwater, both of which are known for bad culture. At least citadel isnt weird
I did a recent interview with them (no business class?) and every single person i talked to seemed normal and actually fun to talk to. Honestly, the funnest interview i’ve ever had. Culture is really weird. Location isn’t too bad. 45 minutes to manhattan from Stamford which isn’t much longer than Redmond to Seattle or Cupertino to SF. Took me an hour to get from office to JFK on a friday afternoon Curious about compensation growth
Haven’t worked there myself, but I’ve heard it’s brutal wrt WLB.
