What is the "Power Law Distribution" about Bitcoin and Crypto?

Cathie Wood said "we believe it is Power Law Distribution" and so it will become only a few crypto coins in the future that people care about.

What is this "Power Law Distribution"? I read some writings but can't really tell what it is.

  • Basically 20-80 kinda rule where few coins will make up the largest chunk in the crypto market and long tail of many other alt coins.

    Assume for the sake of understanding, top 20 percentile coins will contribute to 80 percent of the crypto market cap and the remaining bottom 80 percentile coins will add up to the remaining 20 percent of the crypto market cap.
