Investing in Airbnb or pre-Ipo companies

How to invest in pre-IPO companies? I’ve seen a few websites around where you can do that, but I’m not sure it is legit...? (equityzen, sharespost,...)

They are legit. Check out the investor requirements to see if you qualify to invest. I’ve heard sharespost is better, but I haven’t used them myself.

Read up on how it all technically works. TL;DR An LLC will own your shares until they’re public. Also you’ll pay a 3-5% fee on top of a 10k minimum.

FWIW, Carta’s building a cool private secondary market, but I don’t know the ETA on that yet.

Through SharesPost they are direct secondaries.. no LLC will own your shares until they are public. Only the buying entity will own the shares if transaction is approved by the issuer
