Meta has a program called Raise for software engineers without a background in AI (including experienced professionals) to explore AI programs.
While this is probably not the best career move in terms of career growth, I'm interested in expanding my AI skills, and wondering if anyone knows what is the program criteria / preferences?

Why do you say it's not a good career move?

Level is not everything. I work in ML related areas. I am not interested in pure engineering even at a higher level/pay. I won't be motivated and won't succeed.

Sure, but you can always join an MLish team through general interview process especially if you learn some ML on your own.

You'll learn fundamentals way better taking a class on ML than just working on ML teams through RAISE

Yeah, but then you need to go back to school and aren’t gaining FT experience at the same time (unless you get your degree while working)

I will. Curious to know about the interview process?

BTW How did you get to know about RAISE -- not many are even aware of it!

I was doing a search on their career site and thought it sounded interesting! I’ve been looking to get into a more challenging space for a while since it feels like I’ve been doing straight web related stuff forever now.
