I recently got my H1b transfered to a new employer and got approved till 2023. My current stamped visa expired in September 2020 and I was in USA on 24th June.
Question: Can I travel to India and get my visa stamped through Dropbox? I have read everywhere that you can do it for same employer but what about a different employer.
I have some emergency and your answers will help a lot, not sure where else to ask.#h1b

1. Trump’s order of proclamation bars any h1b visa stamping until December 31st. If you leave the country you won’t be able to come back before that. If Trump wins the election he might extend the ban so it’s a bit risky.
2. I might be wrong about this, but the embassies/consulates in India are currently only open for emergency visa issuance. H1Bs don’t count.
Ask your new employer’s law firm for any more information before traveling :)
