There's very little info on here for SpaceX offers, so here's mine. Initial offer: SDE2 YoE: 6 Base: 140k Equity: 300k The recruiter made it clear that this was negotiable and there could be a signing bonus. I didn't even try to negotiate as I had offers from other companies for over 100k a year more. And this offer was well below what I was making at the time ๐.
Equity is standard 25/25/25/25?
No, it was 20/20/20/20/20.
Damn
Ask for a DOGE sign-on ๐๐๐
I feel like I'd take it just to work at Spacex. History in the making.
I genuinely agreed, if you feel like that's the trade off that makes send for you, then you should 100% go for it. For me, it didn't make sense personally at the time Im at in my life. Another time/stage of life, then I'd be jumping in head first. Great company and great opportunity
Yeah this is a classic supply/demand issue. Plenty of people willing to work for 100k less than other companies to get to work on sending the first humans to Mars. Same thing in highly innovative medical engineering jobs too. If Facebook paid like spacex, after several years their talent pool would be tiny.
That base seems high unless your including healthcare, equity seems accurate. The sign on can be cash or stock but it's small, like $5-10k.
No idea if it's high or low relative to other SpaceX offers (not much info out there ๐). It is what I was offered though, but sadly less than what my current base is and less than 3 competing offers. Thanks for sharing some info on the sign on! I was curious, but didn't engage knowing I couldn't take the offer
Itโs not outside of the norm.
location ? are you relocating ? spacex stock will be on moon.. join it!
What are the benefits like for SpaceX? 401k match, holidays, vacation days?
No 401k match unfortunately
There's around 11 holidays but don't plan on actually getting all of them off. 3 weeks vacation per year and good luck on actually being able to use them. especially in large blocks. So many people couldn't use their vacation time that they would cash out excess of 240hrs at the end of the year but it was a such huge drain on already streched finances that they stopped and now starting in a few months we'll stop earning vacation hours past 240.
This company will have the biggest market cap in not a too distant future. Starlink IPO first (biggest telco globally soon?) much more to come. If you need the salary I respect that but longer term, even $300k equity will be huge.
Lol with current valuation? Nah
Undervalued imo
