VMware

Is VMware a good company to work for? Also what's the outside perception? Are their employees good hires? Anticipating an offer next week for a PM director role. YoE: 12 TC: 0 (took an 18 months hiatus)

Literally no one cares about your boner

JPMorgan Chase LXkU65 Dec 27, 2019

Is the 18 month hiatus due to a non-compete?

Nope just some "return to sanity" time

VMware tyxS31 Dec 27, 2019

Yes, although layoffs are a routine

VMware vLol Dec 27, 2019

A lot of people in vmw act like we're the only company that lays off yearly lmao.

Are the layoffs based on performance of the individuals? Bottom 10%? Or the business unit?

Microsoft Bangoodboi Dec 27, 2019

They hire some attractive hottie alright

No one cares about your boner

Red Hat Cliff B. Dec 27, 2019

VMware is the most awful company, we currently have lot of VMware folks at red hat who we are trying to get rid of but failing miserably! None who come from that company have any skills whatsoever.

Juniper 5'1"Indian Dec 27, 2019

That's purely anectodal. You could also spin it that VMware riffed/PIP'd them and Red Hat were subsequently super pleased with them hired them, based on RH's "stringent" hiring standards.

Pivotal Bact30 Jan 18, 2020

You work for IBM lol

VMware HappyHols Dec 27, 2019

Its a decent company overall!

What's the bonus structure like?

VMware HappyHols Dec 27, 2019

Your recruiter should be able to share your targeted annual bonus. In the past few years we have usually gotten more than the target.

VMware HonestAbe. Dec 28, 2019

No it’s not. Especially after Dell takeover they have been very stingy about raises
