Around 200 laid off thus far
For my team, it is pure performance based. Those who were let go are the ones at high level and could not deliver anything or deliver things with full of bugs.
Wow , if that's true then congratulations! Reality often does come into play at VMware when it comes to promotions or dismissals
Wow! That doesn't work in IT, performance is not the criteria, just don't ask for promotions and money and you will be safe.. Forever
Last year was less than 2%. I'd expect this year to be the same.
I heard a lot of people were laid off from vsan BU. Is it correct?
Yeah it is. Their entire channel team and most (if not all) of their field sales folks got the axe.
Doet is affect the devs and qa?
Yearly culling while fat cat execs that lead BUs that can’t ship products that generate revenue are showered with promotions, bonuses and equipped with golden parachutes should they be needed in the future.
Its all hush hush. No announcements. We just find out through word of mouth and sites like these. Not performance based at all. Best performers in the team were let go while some who can sell themselves up, stayed.
Yes it is happening. Not sure about the % yet.
