Anyone work at an instituitonal fund of funds? How do you assess first time fund managers in venture capital?

    From what I know its almost impossible for institutional funds to bet on first time managers if they didn't at least work in VC prior. Maybe if they have a shit ton of Twitter followers or their medium claps to medium followers ratio is high they would take a chance lol

  • Usually just look at where they have worked. VC is unfortunate in that all the best returns come from the top managers, and it’s not even close. The first time fund managers who worked at one of these top firms usually do well in their first fund, but then see diminishing returns
