Got exceeds expectation in last year’s forte feedback.

Had manager changed twice. I don’t get along well with the new manager. Last October, when I told him I’m thinking of changing teams (after going through 4 rounds of interview and getting an offer from different org), he told I can’t as he has performance concerns on me. He put me on dev list the very same day.

I took FMLA to try elsewhere and got an offer. Company initiated H1b transfer and background check after verbal acceptance as well. I am hoping to hear back from them in the next 2/3 weeks. I might get another offer from FAANG as well and I’m inclined to that. I’ll hear from them next week.

Now, I started back at Amazon after my leaves and am trying to work in a relatively relaxed way. Manager called me for 1 on 1 and told me, “don’t forget you are on company’s payroll. Do work. I am observing you and you are very uninterested. Maybe you are trying elsewhere but do it on your own time. Send daily emails of what you did since you came back from leave” etc.,

He really is very rude, humiliating and provoking. That too, in team slack channel. And whenever I think, this is probably the worst he could do, he has been someone who does something worse than that.

I’m trying to get him fire me so that I can make some money but not able to handle his words which is unexplainably hurtful.

I’m also worried if he could do something that affects background checks for my future opportunities or career.

Please advise.
