Thoughts on video-based recruiting?

Hi blind, some friends and I are working on a tool for video-based recruiting that integrates with existing job boards like Lever and Greenhouse.

Being early in career and applying to jobs ourselves, we noticed that we were much more likely to apply and engage when someone actually pitched to us and sold us on the company (especially in the startup realm).

We also found it strange that you have to go through multiple rounds of lengthy interviews just to be able to get some face time with the hiring manager and the people you'll be working with. Our hunch was confirmed by the data, as all stats point to coworkers being one of the most important factors in taking on a new role.

We think video is an important piece in engaging with candidates and creating a memorable recruiting experience, while giving the opportunity to a company to show its culture in a dynamic way, but we'd love to hear thoughts and feedback on what we're building. And of course, if you're interested in signing up, please feel free to shoot me a DM

Why would they use that over an existing Zoom or GoTo or Teams account. Take it from someone in the space the market is saturated as hell

  • OP seems to be repeating typical errors by software engineers aspiring to launch startups: going backward in product development, which does not consider whether there’s a sizable market demand for it. Instead they use their rich imagination for customers and their needs.

Ask yourself: who will be my customers and why they need to use my products? Any easier solutions that might exist already?
