I haven’t faced gender based gang up but my previous job it was a constant uphill battle to persuade people to accept certain ideas, long story short it’s a startup where everyone’s pretty junior but have been at that company since early days so they held a defensive attitude toward new intermediate and senior hires, I was able to get a lot of my ideas through but I’m rather blunt (especially for a woman) and persistent, took a lot of standing your ground and finding allies to help sell your ideas, and it often took some level of “let me do the ground work to show you why this idea works”, definitely not fun and my team now have people who actually take my opinions seriously from the get-go and it makes team work so much easier.
If I could offer anything useful is that being “nice” doesn’t do anyone any good, be firm about what you want if you really think your idea benefits the project, don’t include words like “just” in your pitches, it really diminishes your ideas
