AWS Customer Practice Manager - Any Info?

Aug 9, 2021 7 Comments

I was wondering if anyone within AWS or familiar with this role can shed any light?
Was reached out by AWS recruiter for "AWS Customer Practice Manager". I currently am a Solutions Architect (Pre-Sales Engineer, Systems Engineer, SE, other names).

Does anyone know what Level this position is offered at usually and what the TCO may be?
As an SE my TCO is $225 (70 salary /30 commissions).

Thanks in advance.

You can likely get a significant bump. It is an L6 management role, depending on location and negotiation I 300k+ likely.

That being said, it is likely pretty removed from hands on technical work.

    • When you say $300k+ does that include Salary+Commissions?+Stock Options?
And in regards to the position.. I wonder if position would provide a stepping stone into moving up the mgmt ladder (either within Amazon or elsewhere). But from the title alone.. I don't think ppl outside of Amazon are going to even recognize it. What are your thoughts?
I am guessing you may have some exposure to this position. Would like to connect and find out more.

That would be target yearly compensation including base + sign on + rsu.

It is professional services - as far as the management ladder goes it would be similar to getting into senior management roles at professional services firms.

Nothing fancy. Just hardcore Salesforce basically. You won’t get experience in anything technical. They expect you to talk to customer and tell them bunch of excuses for not being able to deliver on time, then you will be managing endless Salesforce documentation the rest of the day.
