Venture Capital firm feedback thread in CA? Silicon Valley, LA, etc
Is there a thread rating VC firms or where founders share good and bad feedback about pitching to or working with VC firms? Would love to start a thread on this so we can share some war stories! VCs (or partners in a specific firm) to avoid, etc. Like firms sharing info to their porfolio companies or to your competitors (this is very rare but does happen with lower tier VCs). I wish there was like a Glassdoor for VCs so startup founders have more information.
Avoid NEA like the plague. Worked for a NEA-backed series-A startup that failed. The way they fuxed us over and threw us under the bus is one for the founder's textbook.
Best thing to do is to contact the CEOs of their portfolio companies and ask about them
The fact that you are posting this here shows how ignorant you are. Every founder/VC knows this happens through backchannels. Network is insular —> too costly to air grievances in public. But you’ll be surprised by what they’re willing to tell you IRL.
Avoid benchmark, heard they screwed over uber
