Received a Verbal Offer - Well below my expected range. Never had the range discussed with the HR in the initial phase. He mentioned that he will submit my compensation range to the Compensation Team and update me by Monday/Tuesday. In the meantime, I get an email stating this: I’m going to submit your profile for a credit check from a company called Sterling Talentwise. We have to run these for any candidate we’re serious about hiring. You’ll see an email from them later. What do you guys think? Is this some bluff games being played? Fight for the pay you want because it will be slow going to get back to that range. Don’t fall for the cost of living bs they like to spew.

They have an extremely low percentage of employee layoffs. They will get rid of contractors (they have a lot ) before FTEs. With a really strong employee pension plan they will move you around before letting you go unless for cause
What level were you provided?
