Hi, my friend got an offer for a non swe role at Verily. It is a L3 position in the regulation affairs team. My friend has 3+ years of relevant industry experience. The base salary is around $100k, joining bonus of $15k and equity around $50k/3 years. We had a few questions: 1) Is the base salary standard for this level or is my friend being low-balled? 2) What is Verily equity? I understand that Verily is a private company and different from Alphabet. What is the upside of this equity? 3) Is the level fair for someone with 3+ years of experience?#healthcare #verily
A friend of mine is getting similar offer for L3, but equity is ~45k over 2 instead of 3 years. Also in regulatory affairs. He also has 3+ years of experience, it seems like L3 in regulatory is different from SWE
$100K base L3 @ Verily in SF is a low ball offer...

The job market is absolutely brutal right now
Can’t speak to whether they’re getting low balled. Also depends on location. Verily equity is like RSUs but private and tracked internally. Valuation is updated and liquidity window open a couple times a year for you to sell any of all of your vested shares back to the company.
The location is in South San Francisco. How much does the equity appreciate? Is it stable or volatile?
I can’t provide actual numbers, but so far it has only gone up. Sometimes a lot, sometimes basically flat, depending on financials, closing deals, raising funds, etc.
