Can an employer(Startup:still haven't gone series a) stop me from vesting my stocks ? In my offer letter and the stock options, it's mentioned that I am eligible to vest 25% of my stocks after completing first year. I completed my first year. However, the CEO has to approve my vesting of stocks and he wouldn't approve. Pls advise on how to proceed with this. Has anyone faced something like this?
Sounds sketchy - even if you get them, do you want to exercise? (this kind of behavior from ceo doesn’t bode well for the future)
Why wouldn’t the ceo approve? For pre ipo companies, all stock can be modified by the executives and board, so there’s definitely esoteric risk that applies to all employees but not you specifically.
You would need your lawyer to review the specifics of the documents.

Do you really think Amazon is that bad
You should speak to a lawyer as I have a feeling this will come down to the wording of your employment agreement.
