Wanted to understand if there is any ESOP plan in Visa to purchase discounted stocks as they don’t give stock grants in general with offers. If yes, what is the limit of the same? Also, how much Visa matches for 401k?
To add ESPP does purchasing every month, but you must hold for 12 months unless it is a hardship. So you can’t do the usual “pump and dump” every 6 months if you are used to that. Better to hold it, but being forced to hold for 12 months is a risk. If you usually hold for capital gains, you will like it.
That’s really helpful. How the bonus structure looks like in Visa, like if it is 10% committed, then how much one usually gets? Like basic stats of last few years will be helpful? And is food provided in Foster City?
The normal range is 0-200% of target. So that would be 0-20% if we take your 10% as an example. This was a solid but not great year, and the median payout was a little above target. So a little more than half of the population got more than their target. The previous two years were fantastic. Almost everyone got above their target, and the maximum payout was bumped to 2.25 to give more room to differentiate at the top. Visa has a good bonus policy.

Is Amazon really that bad if you work 60-80 hour weeks anyway?
Up to 10% of salary at a 15% discount. 401k is 200% match up to 5%
Probably should clarify it is 200% match up to your 5% and 100% vested day one. Interesting starting at Visa it defaults you to 5% towards your 401k and you would have to opt out, instead of opting in. I was impressed my first day to get 10% for only 5% of my own $s.
What happens to the vested ones when you leave visa?
