Don’t go to Times Square

Welcome to NYC. Central Park, empirestate, fifth ave for the vibe, Bike rental for Brooklyn bridge and battery park. If you’re a party person you’re in for a roll.. east village in downtown for bar hopping. You could check out speak easies too. (Bathtub Gin is my personal fav). Rooftops are crazily packed over the weekend. Phd, lavo, le bain. Do not walk slow in Manhattan. It’s a thing New Yorkers don’t appreciate.

- Don’t stop in the middle of sidewalk - If you need help finding some place don’t start the question with “excuse, can you please tell me how to get to...” just ask “hey, which way is 5th ave” - Downtown isn’t part of the city. It’s a direction. Downtown: going down the map (south), uptown is the opposite - Some subway entrances have access only to downtown or uptown platform. Check the sign before you get in. If it doesn’t explicitly say *town - you good - Have your MTA card in hand before you approach the turnstile - Don’t take the tour boat to Liberty Statue, instead take the ferry to staten island - Getting crosstown is slower than uptown or downtown - If you want to take a picture of a tower, do it from some distance. Don’t even try taking a picture from the bottom of the building, it’s just ridiculous - Streets enumeration goes uptown, avenues are east-to-west - You can cross the street on the red signal - just make sure it’s safe - Most of the subway has no cellular service underground between stations - If you need to meet someone, tell them the names of street/avenue like “59th and 5th”

I think Highline is somewhat unique NYC experience

Paulie Gee’s. There may be other valid pizza suggestions but Paulie Gee’s is the most valid suggestion. It’s touristy but NYC has some of the best museums in the world. Go bar hopping if you’re visiting friends.
