I am an international student Pursuing my Master's. Please help me decide between two internship offers! VMware Team: vCenter HA Team Pay: $51.5/hr + $8500 housing Stipend Location: Palo Alto, 12 weeks Confluent Team: KsqlDB Pay: $55/hr + 2000/mo housing stipend Location: Remote, 13 weeks I know, in terms of monetary Confluent is good but can anyone help me to answer the below question: 1. how is the work? 2. what are the chances of full-time conversion? 3. How is the culture? 4. WLB? 5. Learning opportunity? The Comments would be really mean a lot for me to decide. Thanks #engineering #software #swe #intern #vmware #confluent #ksqldb #vaCenter
Confluent all the way. Fuck VMware
Why is this even a question
Thanks for the comments. I am writing this post because I don't have many datasets related to Confluent on SWE intern(Checked in Glassdoor, blind). Posting here in comparison with the offer. I want to know more about the above-mentioned parameter from folks of both companies. I would be glad if you could let me know, how are the conversion rate in KsqlDB and other parameters mentioned-above.
Confluent has a better culture than VMware, you'll also get a better learning experience as you'll get to work on some impactful projects, not just fluff. If you perform well you'll likely be hired back as we are hiring a lot.
The one nice thing about VMwares internship is that it's in person.
Can I know when your confluent internship start date is?
16th
Thank you! Was it flexible by any chance or was it like a hard start date for all interns?
At least my recruiter was flexible to this
Following. also are u a international student? If yes which uni?
Yes. Arizona State University. Did you also get an offer from any of those?
Oh no no i cant help you i just wanted to know about your uni ;)
