  • Enterprise always gets paid more. They are more tenured reps and requires more multi threading in large accounts. SMB is for entry level.

There are plenty of other sales orgs outside of SMB and Enterprise with L6 and L7 reps…definitely not as many L7 as in Enterprise/Globals but a lot of L6 making the pretty much the same as reps in Enterprise…

@her? that's a really good point - I lumped ISV, DNB, etc together with Enterprise because i think in this scenario they are more comparable to Enterprise than SMB. My answer reflected that grouping - SMB has, generally, lower TC than those calling on large companies, regardless of their vertical.

In enterprise you probably have a better chance of a big windfall, but other than that it’s hard to see what could be the difference. AWS sales reps are also on a 60/40 split which would lessen the impact of a big win, compared to a more aggressive bonus scheme.

Also very interested. From the little I know about AWS, I think the answer is no. Obviously if you get some luck with a huge enterprise account and do a large deal, that will probably be more commission potential than smaller accounts. But, i bet enterprise is tougher in general, and less common to do those huge deals

Most large companies will pay based on the level bands, not specific roles. So it’s not like a start up/pre ipo companies that do generally pay enterprise significantly more than smb.
