Hey Guys,
I have been a lurker for some time here and really appreciate the insight provided.
I have received an offer for SWE LinkedIn and was looking for your opinions.
Base: $155k
RSU: $200K ($50K/yr)
Signing Bonus: $30k
Relocation: $5k
Expected TC: $235k (not accounting relocation here, I wouldn't the signing as well since it's a one-time thing so maybe $205k?)
Location: Bay Area
I have read that refreshers are hard to come by and maybe RSU's is the area where I could negotiate?
I checked levels.fyi and though the majority of offers lie between 210k-220k it seems there's a section of TC band beyond that as well.
Looking for some guidance on any possible negotiation option or whether I even should? No competing offers currently (gave the MSFT on-site yesterday in one of those virtual hiring events, not very optimistic about an offer though)
The part where I think I can negotiate is probably the signing bonus/RSU?
The recruiter also emphasized at least a 10% performance-based bonus that I should be guaranteed every year but I am not sure about this one.
UPDATE: Negotiated another $25000 in RSU's bringing it to $225000 RSU's over 4 years and TC after 1st year at $226750 and 1st year TC to $256750
Current TC: 95k (LCOL)
YOE: 1.7 yrs
