Hi All,
I worked hard on a complex project and missed deadlines and faced a lot of critics from managers and peers. Finally, I ended up with a patent for the algo I developed. When it was time for the appraisal, forget about promotion, I didn't even get the hike. When I questioned it they told me what is there in writing 4 lines of code anybody could write that no big deal. On the contrary, my peer actually wrote a feature to sent an email notification based on certain rules and ended up with US travel opportunity and descent hike this guy is the manager's favorite. The manager and lead play favorite game to this single guy over the entire team. The guy is pretty street smart and venomous. Most of the time, we will not even know but the work gets assigned to this guy. This is killing my career growth. How do I handle this issue? Manger just goes by the lead's words and the lead is the super favorite to this guy. #tech #software
