Anyone here working in NYC Uber as Ops Manager? Want to know how much remote/wfh is possible in this role? Reason I ask is because me and my wife are currently in a different city and I'd like to take this opportunity. So I plan on flying in and out every week if I took the offer. So realistically speaking, how many days can I work from home? What's the culture like? Are most meetings in person? Do team members work together? Current TC: 120k, 3.5yoe, NC
With that YoE and TC you might get a L3/L4 offer which will be around ~100-110k ....not worth it.
Yeah I'm gonna try to get recruiter to switch to Sr Ops Manager saying my total exp is about 5 years including all internships. Seems unlikely but will give it a shot
It depends on your boss. I WFH at least 2 times a week. The culture is very low. Tons of work - far less people. It’s a mess.
Do you recommend the position given the experience and resume value (if at all) ?
I don’t. If you join, there is a huge risk involved that is not worth it. I’ve been here for 5 years now and it’s worst now then it has ever been. #bringbacktravis
Honestly WFH is never an issue in the NYC office at least for Ops. But for impactful work it's highly team dependent and to a certain extent luck.

Avoid teams with only Chinese or Indians especially with a Chinese/Indian manager
Can’t say for sure about NYC but I’m an ops manager in SF and once or twice a week is fine? I work with people in NYC and they always seem to be home on Friday’s at least. Even locally people Zoom meet in the same damn building. Likely depends on your boss though.
