WFH flexible hardware companies

(cross posted in Apple forum) Feeling burned out and bored after almost 8 years in Apple. As a new parent don't like to return to office in September given the heavy handed approach the company is taking. My wife is an SWE and managed to LC her way from her existing company to a place offering TC bump and WFH flexibility, while as an EE, I seem to struggle to find places matching my skillset and Apple TC, not even considering WFH flexibility. What are some options before me? My work doesn't really need me to be in the office as I work on simulations/architecture and not actually prototypes. Are any companies open to work flexibility for hardware? Although it seems other companies (even large ones like G/FB) have much smaller HW teams and would need even bigger onsite presence? Or should I just try to LC my way into a software role (although I doubt anyone would match my Apple TC as I'm essentially a new grad there). TC: 300k (nominally, but 420k+ for 21/22 due to AAPL apperication). ICT4, YOE8

NVIDIA or F/G - but not sure TC will match given you have so much stock appreciation.

I'm not looking to get my post-appericiation TC matched. Looking at this as a long term solution, don't mind waiting to switch by Oct 22 when my Apple TC falls off a cliff (although would hate to go back to office till then) but want something with permanent flexibility, good WLB and at least 300k TC

Then those options are your best bet to hit 300k TC.

No option to work from home till end of year? Why?

Apple 🍺virus OP Jul 7, 2021

Apple is mandating 3 days a week onsite starting September.

Even for those with unvaccinated children???

Nvidia might be a safer bet! Got to know they were very flexible pre pandemic as well! Not sure if they can match that TC though!

How could you feel bored in Apple?

Apple 🍺virus OP Jul 8, 2021

Why not?

Op, I know some teams in intel who are offering permanent wfh if they really need you, they will definitely approve! In my org they are doing that with senior experienced folks like yourself for talent attraction purposes!

This was pre-COVID but while I was at Apple managers were okay with WFH from what I’ve seen. But you would really need to be considered valuable, that losing you creates big risk for org, for manager to pull it off (exception created) with HR. Otherwise FB has great remote policy now
