League has been down all night so I’m guessing there’s no on-call. How’s WLB there?
Friends at Riot seem to be pretty happy with WLB and compensation. As with anything, busy days can get long but generally decent.
WLB is pretty great here. Like Hulu said busy days can be busy, but there’s no systemic crunch. Teams are generally flexible with start times as well so you can build out your own schedule. Unlimited pto and free breakfast/lunch/dinner is also nice. Pay is comparable depending on role.
Personally, I think WLB is strange compared to other companies. Since I absolutely love League, I sometimes spend two to three hours every day playing the game. Because of this, I generally stay in the office for a prolonged amount of time which results in a weird work-life blend.
This. People often stay late playing league or have a board game night with coworkers, etc. It really is a strange work life blend but you can do 8hr days or less comfortably if thats what you are looking for.
I do think it's heavily team dependent. I've always found engineers being able to Control their wlb a lot better. The business folks seem to always be stressed out and work longer hours. Which I guess prob make sense cause they all come from consulting and banking backgrounds and are used to working 12 hour days :/ just my random observation

Let's talk about insane WAQF act
I thought engineers at Riot we’re paid decently.
Hmm fair, I always assumed gaming paid meager salaries but levels.fyi seems to show mostly LA-competitive rates.
I checked levels.fyi and I couldn't find riot in the company list. Where r u seeing this?
