Got an offer from Upstart for Senior software engineer. Wanted to ask how their work life balance is like? I usually don't like to work after hours or on weekends, will I be able to main this if I start working at Upstart?

      Really? What's toxic about it? I've never heard this before. Are you sure it wasn't just a bad manager? I heard bad things about one EM, but I hear good things about basically everyone else.

    That should be feasible. Working long hours can be rewarded, and we don't have a lot of coasters, but I think it's usually pretty clearly spelled out that nights and weekends are not expected of anyone.

      Hey can you let me know what is the number of options senior engineers got earlier in 2020 BEFORE the IPO, when it was stock options and not RSUs?

      Was it in the range of 20k-30k options, 10-20k or less than 10k options?

    I had a bad experience interviewing them. They had me give a full day on-site interview and said feedback was positive but they are recalibrating what they need for this role and the role is put on hold. Didnt even had the audacity to say that we are interviewing other candidates. Things looked chaotic but I was just interviewing

      Towards the end of the summer last year. I’m really just waiting to see how the earnings call goes on Wednesday (and then the next one after that) - the only reason I’ll stick around longer than a year is if the stock stays on a solidly upward trajectory and the street responds well. The whole roller coaster over the past month or so makes me worried that no one really knows what the value of the stock is.
