How is the WLB at Wayfair as entry level dev/ds? Is Wayfair TC higher than Amazon Microsoft?
WLB is good. TC is worse.
Very disorganized and political , expect layoffs/pips a lot. A friend got laid off with one month. Another one - decent guy - got an excellent one on one with manager, went to lucnh, came back and laid off LOL
WLB is great. Never worked more than 30 hours a week. The toxic culture is what grinds you, not the hours.
Any examples of the toxicity?
Can agree with this one. Depends on your team, you could be working more than 40 hours but I think on average nobody really works here. Toxic culture is bad.
This is an old thread and wondering how things have changed for folks in the covid times. I find myself working around 12 hrs a day and sometimes over the weekend as well..I've told my manager and skip level about the work load and they just tell me to prioritize better since I'm a PM..haha.

Search Wayfair here on Blind for some catastrophic horror stories. Even if TC is higher (which I doubt), the opportunity cost of missing Amazon or Microsoft will be much higher in the long run.
Is it challenging to move from Wayfair to another higher tier company? Are points deducted by hiring committee for being from Wayfair?
Well, given all the negative comments about Wayfair’s engineering and culture here on Blind, I think there might be some weariness to hire from that company. Basically the hiring manager would need to make sure that you won’t import any harmful cultural practices you learned at Wayfair into their own team. Plus I’d be concerned about the overall lack of career growth and learning. You’re much better off joining a startup working with newer tech and senior engineers closely.
