Recruiters used to chase me when I was an engineer. As soon as I became a product manager, it seems I have been cancelled by all the recruiters. Are PM resumes grilled more than an engineer's?#pm #product #productmanager

I've been a PM for 12 years. I get one message per year from recruiters. Could be location or it could be that I've been at one company for 12 years? Who knows.

I have "open to work" and have for all of United States, willing to relocate and have about 2000 connections but I don't hear from any recruiters ever.

I've been debating changing my title to software engineer just to see what happens.

Very possible AT&T. I've updated my profile a lot lately. I am getting interviews but not as many as you'd think. Roughly 200 applications in 3 months and have only had 5 interviews despite 12 YOE as Senior PM in engineering and 20 YO total experience including apple and startups.

Probably location and TomTom not being a feeder company. Where are you based out of?

  • How long have you been PM? It takes around 6 months after moving to PM role to start getting pings for other PM roles

  • Might be the specialization too. Not open to worked on LI but I get pinged 2-4 times a week by recruiters for PM jobs

Yes that's normal. After becoming a PM I find moving and convincing recruiters that I have the skillset they need is harder, somehow don't get shortlisted a lot as a PM maybe there is more competition. Also since every senior pm opening is expecting diff experiences at senior levels it is becoming harder and harder to shift I feel :((((
