Hello All, so I’ve set a goal for myself to make it to six figures when I hit 35 (current 30 years old). I graduated with a bachelors in computer science in January of 2019 after deciding to make a career switch in 2016. So far, I’ve only had help desk experience (1 year worth) and those were contract positions. I worked with InfoSys from Feb 2019 until Sept 2020 and i didn’t get exposure to too many projects while there because the clients were looking for experience I didn’t have and InfoSys was “selling me” for having. Now I am in another contract position that’s lasted about 4 months now. My highest held salary so far was working for InfoSys at 57k a year. In order to make it to my goal, should I start specializing? What are some good ways to pivot away from the help desk role? I’ve tried taking courses on sites like Udemy and Coursera but since I’m not doing much hands on, these classes have been ineffective for me. Open to ideas, tips, suggestions. #Tech #sixfigures
