Bought a Kindle edition of a book - pretty expensive one, mind you - only to get a message like "sorry you cannot read it on cloud reader, please download our shitty app". They are "sorry"? Seriously??? It's time to buy digital versions of books directly from publisher (or just download for free, if not too much hassle), and for everything else - I'll try Walmart. They are also online, and may be they don't treat you like shit?
In that case they should have put a big fucking warning, like - "you can buy, but you won't really be able to read this book." Also remember - it's a digital content, so if I am prepared to jump through hoops - I can probably get it free.
Did you contact customer service? I bet they will refund your purchase if you tell them you are unhappy about having to use the app. You're saying you got treated like shit but I don't see where you even mention contacting CS, you're just unhappy that the publisher of you book won't allow online access...
What a fucking child
OP is simply dumb as hell.
Buy a Kindle? It's a better reading experience and like $39 on sale.
Are you serious? There was one thing that I used to like about Amazon - their customer service. Now they act like a monopoly, so it's time to show them they are replaceable.
It's most likely a publisher restriction (drm) preventing the cloud app working.
