WTF with Uber & MongoDB folks on Blind?
Some of this will be painting groups with a broad brush (due to [possibly] some [really] bad eggs)... A lot of snarky / vile comments I encounter on Blind seem to emanate from Uber staff. Lately MongoDB has stepped up to the plate of crassness. Am I the only one noticing this? Is this some screwed-up corporate culture at work?

Not really. I've gotten way worse stuff from people not in those. I've seen some fun posts by MongoDB and Uberites pretty much keep in reigned in. I think as far as Uber goes, I think they are just the popular one to hate right now so its coloring your perceptions. Posts that from the likes of Amazon, Facebook, Google, or Microsoft, wouldn't be given a second glance, are getting extra scrutiny.
Blind is mostly about trolling tech topics and people... Most of the things said here are meant to get a reaction, like teenagers saying crazy things to their parents.
Lets face it. Blind is corporate Reddit and a safe haven for those who need to let loose and throw political correctness to the wind. What you see as crass and vulgar, I see as a breath of fresh air and a relaxing massage to my stressed out mind.
I love the fact that people speak so openly. The world is not this neat place where things always gel

it's definitely a trope. look in a thread, see a horrific / ignorant / bigoted comment? oh what a surprise, an über douche. its not 1:1 of course, there's plenty of other companies with bad eggs... but it's happened often enough that i have no desire to ever work there. if that's what's really crawling through those people's minds at work i have no interest in working with such toxicity.
The idea is to avoid concentrated piles of toxic people. and yes, there will be one or two douches in every organization. its when there's a large amount of them in one place that problems start to arise. #hashtag #truth because hashtags validate something apparently

I've seen some nice posts from uber because of the variety of posts on here. I think I've only seen one or two people from Mongo though

This doesn't validate your position. All this proves is that there's at least 1 person from Mongo, not a broader indictment. Also remember that Blind is pretty much set up like 4chan and users can change their name everyday, so a proliferation of posts could just be 1 active person.
