WTFudge AT&T

5GE was all a lie...It wasn't even slightly faster than all the other networks... https://arstechnica.com/information-technology/2019/03/atts-5g-e-is-actually-slower-than-verizon-and-t-mobile-4g-study-finds/

Even third world carriers beat AT&T.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but America is worse than a third world country in many ways

It’s not a secret 5G is a lie. 70% of the population don’t know any better and AT&T is capitalizing on it.

T-Mobile aSPt24 Mar 25, 2019

5G isn't a lie, just AT&T supporting it.

5Ge is just an AT&T rebranding of LTE Advanced to mislead customers, probably in cahoots with Apple because Apple will be late to the market with actual 5G capable phones. They did a similar thing 8 years ago with passing off HSPA+ as LTE, again because Apple was late to the 4G party. Through this experiment, they learned they can get away with this kind of bullshit. Sprint is suing them for this, but it doesn't matter. https://gcn.com/articles/2011/01/06/att-4g-networks-rebranded.aspx?m=1

Let’s face it. AT&T is a legacy company that is focused on profit maximization. Their services and prices have been sub par. They have been promising fiber internet in the Bay Area but that costs real $$, so they are rolling out super slow. Also their strategy now is to buy content and other distribution companies. I hope more people see that they are a company that promises marketing hype but delivers little value.

Intel (⌐■_■) Mar 25, 2019

Doesn't that describe all big telecom provider companies: Verizon, Comcast, Time Warner, etc? Google Fiber didn't work out probably because you guys found out that any company that has to have truck rolls and dig ditches and lay wires and repair those wires in their massive network is going to have a recoup those costs and make money by gouging their customers. Right?

Google Pazzi Mar 25, 2019

Absolutely. All telcos suck, and Google learnt it the hard way too. Having experienced all major networks, I reserve a special place in hell for AT&T. And how clueless was their marketing team to think they could call 4GE as 5G. And for consumers to find it’s actually slower than T or V.

5g isn't about speed, it's about reduction in latency. That said it should evenchually be faster.
