Have been working in Uber less than a year. Already started looking for opportunities outside. Real reason for leaving is bad leadership.

What reasons are acceptable in interviews for early leaving the company? Please please help

Uber has been a tremendous experience, I feel I learned a lot there and grown as an engineer. But when I got your recruiter's email, I got really curious about the opportunity and what you are trying to do. I figured I should at least give it a chance to learn more.

Badmouthing is a major red flag. Unprofessional and implies you'd do the same to the new company.

    • Some companies have some pretty sweet new tech. I recently left OCP, they have made huge leaps in the field of robotic policing technology. But who wants to relocate to Detroit?

Never criticize your current employer. Always say that’s an awesome place to work. For your case in particular, Uber has had pretty bad publicity recently. I’d go with “not being aligned on how Uber treats drivers”.

“Don’t bad mouth your company/team during an interview” is on practically every single “interview tips and tricks” list ever published.

Don’t ever feel bad about leaving a company. No matter how short of a time it’s been.

The only people that will see it as a red flag are the people that haven’t been a bad situation themselves. Most people will be understanding
