Asking for a friend currently working in Amazon Walmart Senior Software Engineer (IN4) Fixed - 30.3 L (29 base + 1.3 PF) Bonus - 25% of base = 7.25 L RSU - 25% of base = 7.25 L (Vested over 4 years). New stocks worth 25% base added every year. Joining Bonus - 8L ( 4 + 4 over 2 years) One time New hire RSU - 11L Microsoft L62 Offer Team - Azure Fixed - 29 including PF Bonus - 0-20% of base = 5.8 L max RSU - 50k USD = 36L ( Vested over 4 years) Joining Bonus - 5L Opinions on the above offers? A few more points to consider:- Walmart allots a new set of stocks every year. Does Microsoft give a new set of stocks after 4 years or on promotion? What is the average promotion time from L62 to L63 in Microsoft (Azure in particular) and in Walmart from Senior Software Engineer to Staff Engineer Microsoft and Walmart are both unwilling to negotiate. Taking all the above points into consideration, what do you think is the most desirable option? YOE - 6 Current TC ( 21 LPA Base + 6 joining bonus + 12 LPA Stocks ( Vesting over 4 years) ) #microsoft #azure #walmart #amazon
Walmart comp structure is diff ... What's one time hire rsu, is it diff from rsu? Any how, from IHS, join MS, good for future growth.
Asking a friend who is working in Amazon. Btw, one time hire RSU are kind of stocks they give you on joining. They are different from the annual RSU which is typically given every year with it being 25% of the base package at Senior Software Engineering level.
From Amazon, friend should join Walmart, as pay is good
Which org / team in Azure ?
Cloud Backup and Restore
Go for Microsoft, you will definitely like it. Hands down Microsoft
I accidentally voted for walmart. Should be msft. There is not much diff in compensation.
The difference in comp is refreshers, at Microsoft you will be getting ~5k of refreshers every year. Walmart has its refreshers fixed at 25% of base, so tc is gonna increase by a lot in the long term and also refreshers grow as your base increases. However do consider other factors as well
In terms of comp walmart is looking good. I would suggest talk to people working under hm for both ms and walmart. Understand team culture and then take decision Azure is lot of support work, i sufferred there for 6 months..
Having same kind of reviews for walmart
