Walmart Labs and Walmart Global Tech PMs would really appreciate your input here: I am expecting to get an offer from the Walmart Global Tech team in a week or so (formally called Walmart Labs I think). It is a Principal Product Manager offer at X6 level. I have the exact domina experience the need in and around the developer platform. I am currently at a start building the same technology. Working in the industry for12 years Eng backgound MBA from a top school Current compensation (TC): $245k Tentative TC numbers Walmart recruiter gave at the start of the interview process: Base range: $210K to $230k Yearly bonus: 25% RSU: $100k for 4 years. So, it is only $25K per year. (WTH so low!) I clarified with the recruiter it is $100k spread over 4 years. Sign-on bonus: No number was given but it could be Cash or RSUs or a combination of both. (Let's assume $25k for sake of calculation) TC here could be $337K (based on a $230k base and $25k bonus). I think this is freaking low. I have a great match with what they need. I am looking for a TC of $400K. I haven't given them any numbers but will they be able to come up to $400k? I’ve known someone who was exceptionally great technologist at x6 who had 450. But, it’s very rare and they were in Software Eng (not PM).
U will get a sign on stock of 100k, also its 100k every year with 4 year vesting so u will hit 100k in stock per year, which is close to ur 400k
OP will hit 100K stock per year at the 4 year mark and beyond. Until then, it’s 25K, 50K, 75K

Is the Sign on RSUs of $100k your specified vesting at the end of year 1 or is it monthly so 1/12 every month? OR is it screwed up where this signon RSUs are also vesting over 4 years (so I am only getting $25k as sign on bonus in 1st year and that too at the end of the year)? Are you in the Product org at Walmart? do you think they might be able to come up to $400k a year in TC starting my first year?

The only way Walmart can match 400k is if they raise your base. The stocks for each level are usually fixed and mostly recruiters can’t change much in that area. But just remember that Walmart gives refreshers every year. I am a L5 but i am sure this 210 to 230 range is not correct. Because L5 itself can go to 230… principal is L6, so It has to be more than that. If someone at L6 can confirm here the range then you can try negotiating on the base itself.
Thanks @sunscr I agree the recruiter is obviously trying to set keep the bar low even before any negotiation. I was thinking of asking $250k as a base salary? But looking at your comment sounds like that I can shoot for higher than that $250k as a base.
Your talking about max band, which no recruiter is going to offer, 90% of x6 product managers are between 200-230
