Can someone confirm if the leveling on levels.fyi is accurate for PMs at Walmart? I'm trying to evaluate if I should consider interviewing for a director role at Walmart. I'm currently a GPM at Intuit and wondering if I should stay out or pursue Walmart Blind tax: 375K
Walmart will have a hard time beating that if it is not in NYC or SF. You need Director or above to get a 20%bump … else you might be having a hard time
I'm in SF considering a director role. I'm interested in both the pay range and how the director compares to my current level. Would you say a director is like L7 Amazon?
Most Director of products will manage 3-8 PMs and lead a product area. I don’t think the exit options are as good as L7 Amazon though.
Director position pay and responsibilities depends on the team and the business unit. Some old areas like SCM might not pay 350k plus for director. While W+ or marketplace will pay 500k ish.
OP - What’s your PM YOE/Total YOE? Walmart GPM and Directors both can be >400 TC depending on select teams and relevant exp. Walmart GPM =~ Early to mid Amazon L7; Walmart Director =~ Mid to Top Amazon L7 for high level comparison.
6 YOE as PM/9 total. Thank you for giving me the answer I was most looking for
Your welcome!
Is intuit bad enough that you want to interview at Walmart?
I like what I do and the team I'm on, but trying to understand the levels. And honestly, just looking for a change. Been here 4+ years already
