Received positive feedback from interviews. But haven't received the offer yet. Yoe: 10 Should I fight for staff or settle for senior? Senior will mean lower TC which might be deal breaker. I have read staff have standard Grant of 60K per year. Is that negotiable or fixed based on level? What are new hire grants and what is their vesting schedule? Are these in addition to standard RSUs? How much are the offered approximately? Is signing bonus offered to new hires? Are there any other components to increase TC? I am aiming for 300-350K.
Yes, plantsalad is correct. RSUs are annual and fixed per level. Your signing RSU grant is the same as your annual grant. (if your level says you will get a $60K stock grant annually, then you will get $60K in stock when you sign.) All stock grants vest over 4 years. Starting in 2020, eCommerce roles can have their annual stock grants adjusted up or down based on the prior years’ performance. Not sure if that applies to Labs roles.
Thank you very much for sharing the information. This is very helpful.
Glad it’s helpful. Mostly our recruiters fail to explain this well enough. People miss out on the benefit that, assuming you meet expectations for your job, you get a $15K bump in TC annually for four years (with that $60K grant).
Hey, what search team? Strati search?
No there is not strati search. It Walmart search
What your current comp. Why do you think you are worth 300 ? Any competing offer?
staff level is hard to get 300k but possible
Do not settle on Senior Software Engineer position and if had to then don’t settle with low salary. Joining have go two additional components. 1. Cash Bonus 2. Signing in stocks(separate from yearly RSUs. Aim to get both and tell them since Walmart doesn’t match 401K contribution for first year, that is the loss hiring team should compensate. Good luck, there is lot of void to fulfill in Walmart Search, you will work on amazing stuff with great WLB.
Go for staff.
Pushing for staff might mean they reject you because the teams are too top heavy. I myself have rejected someone because they refused senior level... and I'll do it again. So are you really staff level? If not, take senior and get promoted to staff in 2years Also.. staffs often manage/lead people and can be the architect.. do you / can you do this?
I see thanks. I saw ppl with 3+ years of experience are offered senior. Me with 10+ should be above senior.
Depends on your actual experience and interview... and what the team are really looking for. Also. What role did you apply for.. was it senior role
What other companies outside FANG offer yearly bonus and stock?

What tier is Snowflake?
I think RSUs are hard to negotiate. It is just fixed at your level. You can negotiate base, sign on bonus, and sometimes performance bonus pct.
Thank you very much. This is very helpful.
You’re welcome. Hope you get something acceptable and join!
