Crossed a line with my boss
I was supposed to attend a interview at san Bruno location however the recruiter said the manager wants to do a web based zoom interview. Why would they do this? I was looking forward to meet the team and I am so bummed with this. Is this common? I wonder if they are serious about the whole thing.
Did you communicate your concerns to the recruiter? Maybe they have a plausible reason for the decision.
Most likely they already have a candidate and just going through the motions and saving time and money
1. It’s not personal, a scheme, trick, or test. 2. Common w/ early interviews, when there are many candidates. 3. Some HMs and team members are remote to SB office. 4. Hard to coordinate schedules, which makes sense given the need to hire means they’re juggling more than usual. 5. They interview many people to sample broadly - backgrounds, skills, education varies. Better to evaluate many.
I was hired based on WebEx/Zoom interviews including the final round. Very common nowadays....
It is common if it is first round or if hiring team is anyhow majorly located in Midwest
I had two telephonic which went well. I was planning to go for the next 5 onsite to meet in person. Surprised that they changed it to web based.
