Hi Folks,
I am currently L5 at Amazon India and want to move to US. My team and manager are good in India and I am doubtful if I can find another good team and manager in Seattle. Its very rare finding a good manager at Amazon.
I am a very hardworking kind a person and MA mostly but won't be able to handle the pressure of Dev list/ PIP in a foreign country if i happen to land in a bad team/ manager.
Is it possible to get an H1B directly for MS/FB/Google/Apple where i dont have to fear getting piped?
Any referrals are welcomed.

1. Move to US on L1 visa
2. As soon as you move, apply for Green Card.
3. Amazon will file for H1-B
4. Luckily, you got selected in H1-B lottery (and visa approved) then by that time you would have your i-140 approved (i.e., recieved priority date for your GC). With this, (with current rule in place) your H1-B will keep on extending till you get your GC.
5. With H1-B you can move to either google, fb, etc.
Downside:
1. Initial salary while moving may be potentially low — system decides that based on your current rating. Manager does not have any control.
2. If you work hard then you may potentially get promoted in 2yrs. If not at least get Exceeds in rating which will pump your salary.
Savings in US (even with initially low paygrade) will be anytime higher compared to your Indian salary.
Assuming you move at 170-180k (incl. stocks) — inhand salary ~$9.5-10k
Expenses
~$2200 per month rent
~$1000 per month utility, car installment and additional expenses
~$2000 per month living cost (food, etc.)
Based on your standard of living you may end up saving ~$4.5-5k
Which will be much higher than your monthly income in India.
