What does 0.1% really equate to? I feel 5 million bucks would be too much? ( Pardon the ignorance here)
By the time a company reaches $5B valuation, rank and file options have been diluted way past 0.1%. Only the very early employees (think the founding team) are holding that much after series D/ E.
Someone joining at Series B stage as a Sr or staff engineer equivalent should have been given 10 - 20 bps. Director would have been given 25 - 40 bps. VP 75 - 150 bps.
Yeah, someone commented senior engineers used to get 0.1% equity last year. That's great! Good for them
A company exiting for $5B is quite an outlier event so sr ICs making 5 - 10 million is understandable
Very likely but depends on when they joined and at what level, as that would determine equity ownership
